Pencil Drawing - Experiment One

By melafx

This pencil drawing is about the experience and what it brings. As some dictionaries note, the experience is the knowledge acquired through practice, study or observation. The experimentation builds what we are today. The old phrase "learn from our mistakes," comes from the experience throughout our life. This pencil drawing was an experience for me, because I began a journey of discovery in the area of hyperrealism. In particular, texture, blur, sharpen, smooth, and so on.

Drawing testing

I love eyes. I usually draw many eyes actually they make me feel safer. And that was the theme for my experience. I started by drawing the broad outlines, not charge much in pencil to trace. After printing a few pictures "close up" of human skin, in order to be able to observe closely the lines, the depth, shadows and to make a texture similar in some way.

At this stage I was wondering, will you have to be drawn to draw randomly or following a pattern right? Well, I took a chance and went for the random way, so I began by making each layer slightly loaded with 2B pencil, foggy and then started to draw some lines crossed, always randomly. More than a blur from there, some shadows appear there, and I was seeing a texture!

I know from the more experienced artist in this area of pencil drawing, that say it is a matter of training and study and some more training. So this was just a controlled experiment to draw the texture of human skin, which i tried to represent it in the area below the eye and fades away on the left side of the drawing to make sense of depth.

After 3 hours straight, I completed this training. I liked the end result and I was anxious to put into practice the way of the correct pattern. It is clear that whatever mode of drawing i use, random or not, the more i train better i get until the next time you pick up a pencil.

A message:

In the drawing, the trial / error, is part of everyday life of an artist. In fact, everything in life is to learn more and more, especially from our mistakes. So I call the attention of all artists to never give up, whether the drawing, either of another aspect of your life. Overlap your obstacles, time after time, be creative in what you do, be original and humble.

We look back in time and remember the old painters who explored the oil painting, lithography, engraving, drawing. Look for all of us as were sources of inspiration. `And they had no access to technology, things like pictures for example. Today we have the feeling that everything is a little explored in all areas, but the human mind has never been limited in their creativity and originality.

I have achieved some of my goals in life, having heard counsel and have lived and have had experiences that have increased my knowledge and wisdom. Always want more, do not give yourselves be satisfied in relation to your "art", whether in painting, writing, computers, etc.. Do not forget "knowledge does not take place"

Kind Regards,

_David C.

It's a woman's eye. I guess you saw The Execution, i love the concept phase, it's the hardest, but it comes to our minds, it's like it's already drawn. Thanks kids toy box

I agree..concepts are the first phase of making an idea reality. The fact that we can conceive of an idea means that its already alive!
